Tombstones to Ecosystems

"Tombstones to ecosystems" was a series of carvings for architectural reproduction. It atomised to represent a set of contradictions at the site of the works. For a moment, they renewed the practice of carving European flora onto Gadigal sandstone. The six carvings were each made by different individuals, and were embedded into the Australian Museum. The museum had closed to the public while they were under renovation, and reopened with the 'unsettled' exhibit.
